Planning On Visiting Perak? | www.peraktourism.com

Have you ever heard of UTP? Not that UTP cable laa.

Most of us here in UTP (Universiti Teknologi Petronas) experienced the awkward moment when being asked by others especially the elders which university are we in. It usually goes like this:

"Adik belajar kat mana?"
- "Kat UTP, mak cik"
Dahi mak cik mula berkerut..
- "Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, UTP mak cik. Kat Tronoh, Perak. Otw ke Pangkor tuu"
" Oooooohh.."
Muka mak cik masih kebingungan buat-buat tau lokasi sebenar UTP.

Don't tell me you haven't experienced that.. But I think recently UTP got all the highlights from the media arus perdana for its involvement in big events such as Tilawah Al Quran Peringkat Kebangsaan, Forum Perdana Hal Ehwal Islam and special forum session with Tun Mahathir on Palestine. Oh, don't get me wrong. We don't even have Islamic Studies Faculty here. Most of us are engineers and software engineers to be. All of us I guess.

What does the title has to do with all this UTP stories? Well, our university is in Perak. To be more precise, at Bandar Seri Iskandar, Tronoh, Perak and I am one of the students here. Instead of writing and posting blog posts about travelling overseas, it wont harm to be more patriotic right? Gotta share with you great places - worth to be visited in Perak recommended by Perak Tourism.

Visit the web: Link

According to Perak Tourism website, there are 10 icons of Perak must be visited by us! It includes:
  1. Royal Belum State Park
  2. Matang Mangrove Forest
  3. Gua Tempurung
  4. Perak's Herbal Garden
  5. Sg Klah Hot Spring
  6. Orang Utan Island
  7. Zoo Taiping and Night Safari
  8. Ipoh - The Limestone Wonder
  9. Lumut and Pangkor Island
  10. Kuala Kangsar

Too bad.. I have been in Perak for almost 4 years now but only visited 1 and a half from 10 icons of Perak. Yup, visited Lumut for a few times but never been to Pangkor. Teruk kan? I know.. My coming short term target is to visit all of these icons before I finish my study in UTP. I even ask Perak Tourism and Kementerian Pelancongan Malaysia to help me financially on my plan to visit and experience all 10 Icons of Perak. Macam korang tak tau.. Duit student ni bermusim. Kadang ada duit, kadang kering langsung. Ada duit lebih boleh pegi Bandung (Yup, Ive been to Bandung. Yeay!), duit dah habis duduk hostel jela diam-diam. So I guess the best solution is to ask for financial aid from those who might help. Crossed fingers!

Places to Stay

From places to visit, what to eat and even some cool homestays for you to experience the kampong life style. Isn't easy? Our Malaysia still got so many cool places waiting for us to visit. Plan your trip now!
