This would be my first post on Malaysiasmack. Thanks for the opportunity to Mr Farid.

Travelling have been a current trend and travelling by air have been made possible by introduction of low cost carrier in the airline market which causes a good competition between airlines to offer low air fare. Travelling by air in long duration might be a hassle to certain people especially if their seat location is not strategic. Example, near to the lavatories or you are being sandwiched between 2/3 person in the middle row in a wide body aircraft. So the best thing you could do to prepare yourself is to surf www.seatguru.com. Once you have entered the website, choose the airline you will be flying. If you know the aircraft you will be flying then just choose it out. If you have no idea which aircraft you will be flying, then you have to other options.

  1. At the main page, you can search by your flight name followed by your flight number. Example Malaysia Airlines MH 094 (KUL-LAX). Then click the list given based on the date you will be flying.
  2. Select the airline you will be flying then your departure and arrival location and your date. Then you would be given a list, then click on them then the layout of your flight will be displayed.

Next what you have to do is to choose your preferred seat during your online check in at click
(example for Malaysia Airlines) or kiosk or at the counter. Some seats have drawbacks and some have extra legroom which would be a real issue if you are well build and you are travelling for a long haul journey. Besides that you could also view amenities available in the airline you are flying. If you are flying with infants, availability of bassinets would be your main concern as you don’t want your child to cry throughout the journey. If you are not offered any bassinets, don’t forget to ask for one. Believe it would be an ease.

Happy travelling!
